The Backstory
My life to date could easily be the subject of a book, so to save you from investing too much of
your precious time, I'm going to keep it brief.
A cervical cancer and endometriosis diagnosis at 24, a high-risk pregnancy on strict bed rest, single mother hood, a nervous breakdown that almost killed me at 40 and an unofficial diagnosis of OCD, ADHD and
neurodivergence to wrap it all up with a sparkly bow.
That was then, this is now.
I did the work, I felt the pain and I learned all about how to recover from years of unprocessed trauma and
chronic illness. The icing on the cake of this year of turmoil was finding my person, Brad.
Hugely avoidant from previous relationships I had accepted my fate as an old lady surrounded by only dogs
and cats, incapable of holding down a 'proper' relationship, but little did I know the impact that trauma processing would have on my life and the relationship I now have with life and this wonderful man.
'Life in the Farmhouse' is the next chapter of life, I've done the shit bit and now it's time to
live large, love fully and achieve all the things I never knew I even wanted.
A lover of interior design, up cycling, charity shops and any other activity that allows me to flex my 'fixer'
trauma response, together with Brad and my daughter Arabella we have taken on the most exciting project to date.
A beautiful 16th Century, Grade II listed farmhouse in the South West of the UK.
The social Chanels will document that transformation, the life that goes on within those four walls, but
also my absolute passion for filming and photography
Come along, it's relatable, on a budget and I hope I inspire you in some shape or form along the way.
Meet The Rabble
Before you delve in to 'Life in the Farmhouse' I'd like to make some introductions as these four legged wonders
will all be making their appearances throughout the videos.
Pete
Pete is our very elderly tortoise. We inherited him from an elderly neighbor about seven years ago and has been with us ever since. He spends his days mooching around in the garden enjoying bananas, little gem lettuce and basking in the sunshine. I have a daily routine with Pete where I hand feed him, more for my benefit than his.
Beatrice
Known as 'Crazy B' 'B' or when she's really naughty 'Beatrice' this is our year old Cocker Spaniel puppy. She's chaotic, lively and in to EVERYTHING as you can imagine being a spaniel.
B came in to our lives just before we were uprooted and the transition in truth has been hard for her and use, but slowly we are working on manners and energy!
Archibald
The most ridiculously over friendly and beautiful creature to walk the planet. My love for this cat knows no boundaries. Very much an outdoor cat in summer but an indoor cat in winter, I owe so much of my healing to co regulating with this guy. He is just a dream in his sleek black coat.
Logan
The most timid, polite little gentleman, Logan is a pure bred long coat Chihuahua, and his claim to fame is that when I first got him as a seven month old puppy we went to Crufts showing and he had a second place, though he totally hated it being the worry wart he is.
The Piggies
The piggies came in to our lives back in April 2025 and It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. They bring Arabella and I SO much joy. Oaty, Noodle, Rolo and Oreo are our little team of Guinea Pigs and they feature lots with their squeaks, antics and me wasting hours just watching them potter about in their run.
Chan
Chan is a British warmblood gelding who found me for a reason. He has had a very messy past with some clear abuse at some point. I have never related so much to an animal in my 40 years on the planet. Through the winter months we drop the riding back with the dark nights, but come the summer we will be out again showjumping.
Chez
'Chezney Bean' 'Chezzer' 'Chez' Came in to our lives about six years ago as a loan pony for Arabella, he came with a bundle of health conditions that we have managed throughout the years and in his late twenties. He has brought so much joy to both of us even in his retirement there is nothing quite like a cuddle with Chez.
Argy
'Argy the Onion Bargee' Argy has been Arabellas pony since early in 2024 and they have had so much fun together. He is a very cheeky chap and regularly tests the boundaries with both Arabella and I. Sadly this is likey to be their last summer together as Arabella is growing at a rate of knots and sadly he isn't. Summer 2025 is about having fun with him.
Bear
Bear (now our) Black Labrador came in to our life when Brad did. He is the most gentle but protective dog and provides endless almost human sized cuddles to all of us. He loves his walks but equally his time cozied up on the sofa and along with Brad creates such a sense of safety in the house. Even with the shirt time he's been in our lives, I truly can't imagine a life without him now..
Daisy
'The Queen' 'Daisy Winkleman' 'Winkle McJinkle' This girl has the amount of sass you would expect from a horse much bigger than her, standing at 28 inches Daisy is a miniature shetland but every inch of her is character, don't be fooled by her size. Nearing her late 20's Daisy is also retired having served her purpose for Arabella when she was little, and she spends her days causing trouble and making us run around trying to catch her!
The Girls
